Accepting Applications until Filled About our Team: The Resident Services team provides transformative, affordable, and supportive housing and elevates the voices of the communities we serve that are disproportionately affected by systemic inequities. PPL provides 1,600 housing units and serves nearly 13,000 people annually in the Twin Cities, aiding in long-term stable housing so that our community can live their best lives. PPL integrates race equity organization-wide through multiple strategies and systems change initiatives. Job Summary: The Youth Services Coordinator serves in an impactful role that supports youth and their families by providing case management and facilitating out-of-school time youth activities. Our two-generation approach supports parents and helps youth achieve their educational, professional, and personal goals. We build partnerships with families who are from diverse communities and have experienced homelessness and mental health challenges. Our team responds to the unique cultural, economic, and social needs of youth and their parents and understands the importance of utilizing individual’s unique strengths to help them meet their goals. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The following duties are normal for this position. These duties are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Develop trusting relationships with children, youth up to 20 years of age, and parents using an asset-based, culturally inclusive, and trauma-informed approach. Provide case management to 20 youth at any time. Walk alongside participants in addressing areas of concern, accessing resources, educational advocacy, navigating systems, and accomplishing goals. Provide direct youth programs through project-based enrichment programs. Youth Coordinators design six series a year on a variety of topics based on community interest and input. Workshop series are facilitated directly by Youth Coordinators or by community partnerships in various areas, i.e., art therapy, sports, cooking, school, or sex health and development. Partner with Family Services Coordinators to facilitate monthly family enrichment activities. Conduct home visits with the Family Services Coordinator to observe family dynamics and support parenting. Supervise, coach, and collaborate with a team of highly skilled volunteers and work-study/intern students to offer services to families. Provide coverage over front desk responsibilities as needed. Keep accurate and up-to-date documentation, including but not limited to case notes, incident reports, program evaluations, attendance data, program budget, and receipts. Participate in internal and external professional development, team meetings, case consultation, special initiatives, PPL committees, and organization-wide meetings. Provide transportation in a PPL van or personal vehicle for programming, special events, and appointments. Communicate and coordinate services with all team members and internal/external stakeholders, including the Property Manager, Northside Achievement Zone, and Hennepin County Child Protection Services. Supervisory Responsibilities: Responsible for selecting and supervising Volunteers, Work-Study, and intern students. Provide professional development and coaching for Volunteers, Work-Study, and intern students. Minimum Requirements Ability to use: Office equipment including telephone, smartphone, voicemail systems, copier, printer, scanner, and fax machine. MS Word, Outlook, and Excel The Internet and electronic timecard system Computer Network (files, drives, and folders) Apricot or other database systems Additional Requirements: Experience with case management or providing direct services to youth. Experience working with children or youth affected by mental illness, chemical dependency, and/or homelessness. Strong desire to serve people from diverse cultures, economic, and social situations. Self-starter with excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work independently and as a team member. Ability to work well in a collaborative team environment with internal and external partners. Good organizational, communication, and leadership skills. Ability to efficiently coordinate, track, and complete multiple tasks and adjust to changing priorities. Proactive in seeking out resources and connections for programming within the community. Valid driver's license and insurance, successfully complete a motor vehicle records screen, reliable vehicle, and ability to transport participants. Hours: Standard business hours -40 hours per week (1-2 evenings per week) Education and/or Experience A course of study in a health or human services-related field leading to a Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science, or Associate degree; or 1-3 years of experience with the target population served. Salary: $22.00-$24.00 Yr., DOQ PPL's work is now a Hybrid Model where 60% of the workweek is in the office or onsite at satellite locations. Our hybrid model refers to the split between working in the office (60%) and working at home (40%) of the time. Over a 5-day work week, this equates to three days working in the office and the opportunity to work from home for the other two days. How to Apply: Qualified candidates can apply online.
