The successful candidate will work closely with inventors on newly created products and assist in identifying patentable inventions. They will be responsible for drafting patent applications, conducting research on current patented technologies, and tracking the patent application process. The ideal candidate should have a background in electrical engineering or biotechnology and possess prior experience in patent law. Job Overview:Work hand-in-hand with inventors on newly created productsAssist in the identification of patentable inventionsResearch current patented technologies to best assist clients in patentable workDraft patent applications with the assistance of the patent teamTrack the patent application process from initial application to granted patent to ensure the team remains on trackComplete ability searches regularlySolve client challenges and respond to client needsRespond to office actions and correspond with the U.S. Patent and Trademark OfficeConsistently meet billable hour requirements Duties:Work with inventors on new product developmentIdentify patentable inventionsResearch current patented technologiesDraft patent applicationsTrack patent application processConduct ability searchesSolve client challenges and respond to needsCorrespond with the USPTO Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in science or engineeringMaster’s degree or PhD desired3+ years of professional experienceUSPTO Registration requiredBackground in electrical engineering or biotechnologyPrior experience in patent law Skills:Strong communication skillsDetail-orientedAbility to work independently and in a teamProficient in research and analysisFamiliarity with patent application processKnowledge of USPTO regulations and procedures Independent lawyering with top of the market pay, this firm offers flexible hours, a good work/life balance, and diverse clientele.
